Dentists work 7 to 10 hours a day, except when emergencies arise, which can sometimes extend the working day. The life of a dentist is much like that of any other doctor, except that dentists maintain regular office hours, a notable attraction of the profession. When a dentist's day starts for the first time each morning, it's much like any other professional's day. Usually, the dentist will wake up quite early, perhaps around 6-7 in the morning, and possibly perform a light to moderate exercise routine that may consist of jogging, walking, or biking.
This is usually followed by a hot shower and a healthy meal that will allow them to keep their minds alert throughout the day and their much-needed fine motor skills with all their energy. While this morning routine may be familiar to a wide range of people, it's what happens later that makes a dentist very different from a regular professional. Usually, the dental hygienist will report the findings to the dentist, who will check everything, including an oral exam, and help the dental hygienist determine the next best appointment for the patient.
